Children of Ghosts

Dan Petrich

This house is a ruin, an artifact of a family and a boy. It was once filled with promise but later abandoned to ignorance and fear. The boy, whose mind threw colors and characters onto the canvas of the world, fled this home early on in search of healing. He embraced wildness and tried to destroy the ghosts. But they led him back to the house
But they led him back to the house years later. The voices that taught him were now gone, and only empty spaces remained. Within that emptiness, he fled to the fields, to seek renewal and harvest.

Of Devils, Gods, and Men

Dan Petrich

“Dan Petrich has been writing and performing folk music in the Pittsburgh area for over a decade. On his latest album, he complements his solitary folk earthiness with harmonizing guest singers, perfectly placed percussion, haunting pedal steel guitar, and even field recordings to bring to life a musical vision entitled Of Devils, Gods, and Men.
At times a foot-tapping, Travis picking, musical locomotive and at other times a gentle, contemplative lullaby, this collection of songs is in every way a journey into the highs and lows, the mystery and clarity, of being human. Always a hallmark of Petrich’s music is his intensely personal lyrics, and this new album highlights his ability to blend stories of personal doubt, fear, and questioning with the reassurance of love, family, and faith. What’s left with the listener at the end of the album is best described as catharsis – an odyssey through the deepest dark and the brightest light, and a discovery of solace somewhere in the gray area in between. Of Devils, Gods, and Men indeed." -Ben Minett

Sycamore Tales

Dan Petrich

At the album’s core is the notion that suffering can transform people into stronger, more beautiful beings. Sycamore trees--with their rough, wild branches and peeling bark--appear to be perpetually in flux, always adapting to life. Hence, the title Sycamore Tales.
